New Boat Loan Choices on the Internet

By Julie Jacobs

Are you looking for a new boat loan to purchase that houseboat youve always wanted? Or maybe you would rather have a fishing boat to head out on the lake? A new boat loan can be the answer to your financing needs no matter what kind of boat you are looking for. You can find a great new boat loan quickly and easily on the internet.

Before you begin shopping for a boat, you need to shop for a boat loan lender. The choice of your lender is almost as important as the choice of the boat itself. There are online lenders who specialize in boat financing and that are familiar with all of the particular needs of boat buyers. These sites will have tools to help you to choose the best new boat loan for your lifestyle and budget and you can do it all on your own time in your own home.

But how much can you afford? this is a question that frightens many potential boat owners. You can find a boat loan calculator on most boat lenders sites and you can quickly get a monthly payment estimate by entering the loan amount and the length of financing. The interest rate is usually provided.

The next thing that you will need to do is to shop around for the best interest rate for your new boat loan. You can use the boat loan calculator to compare the loan packages on different boat lending sites. In order to be competitive the rates will be similar, but you will find one or two loans that will work the best for you. A lower interest rate can save you a lot of money over time.

Next, you need to fill out a pre-approval application. If you are pre-approved you will know exactly how much you can afford. Pre-approval can take as little as 24 hours if you submit the application online.

Find out how much down payment you will be required to pay, and what the typical length of financing is. You can be out on the water in no time.

More Info On southern cross sailboat

According to the Guiness Book of Motorboating, the history of the inflatable boat goes back as far as 880 BC, when the Assyrian king Ashurnasirpal II ordered troops to cross a river using greased animal skins, which they inflated continuously to keep the vessels afloat. In ancient China, during the Sung and Ming dynasties, inflated, airtight skins were used for crossing rivers.

A boatyard tends to be used by people who wish to refit or repair their boat whilst it is not on the water. They can also be used in some cases for winter storage if your boat has been on a swinging mooring in the summer. Many boatyards have their own workshops and will carry out repairs on your behalf. Facilities may not be as good as those in a marina, although with a greater provision for residential moorings the standard won't be bad.

Water Purification On Boats

Tue, 30 Oct 2007 20:45:45 +0200
I came across this product AQUA SALVEO for water purification. Just wondering has anyone used this product OR any other product to do this job. My boat has been sitting for 4 years now and I suspect the water is maybe older than that. I can't remove the tanks without some major demolition and reconstruction work so is this the best alternative.

Beginners Guide To Choosing The Right Boat Trailer

By W Scott

If you intend to move your boat around with you then you should make sure that you have the right boat trailer, one that suits both your needs and your boat - not all trailers are the same. In simple terms a boat trailer is a frame with wheels that is designed to transport your boat across land behind a vehicle. The trailer is joined to a car by means of a locking device that is fixed at the end of the towbar. Before towing a boat the winch and locking couplet should both be locked in order for the boat to be secure.

Different Types of Boat Trailers

It is always a good idea to find out a little about the different types of boat trailers and then to undertake some research on the one that you think will best suit your needs. Just like boats, trailers come in many different shapes and sizes, from the height of luxury and all the fittings to a very simplistic model. There are two main types of boat trailers and these are bunk and roller trailers. Power boats have custom trailers and have to be bought when you buy the boat. If you have a sailboat then that will require a special trailer because it has a deep keel and a high winch stand.

You should have at least some idea of what works and what doesn't work for your boat, along with how much money you want to spend before you actually go out and buy. One of the first things that you should consider when you are choosing your trailer is the size of your boat. This is very important when you are buying a trailer, the right trailer should fit securely and snugly against your boat and you should always read the manufacturer's label on weight and size before you buy a boat trailer.

Getting the right boat trailer will also involve making sure that it has adequate features, there should be break and turn lights, which are required by law and a locking feature to attach it securely to your boat. The lights and axle need to be water tight as they will be submerged when the boat is launched. Some trailers will have a frame-mounted spare tire.

Manual vs. Mechanical

There are manual boat trailers where you have to do everything yourself and then there are those with a feature for making loading and unloading much easier. A small trailer will have a guide hoist to get the boat on the trailer while the larger models will have a one or two speed mechanical winch. The reason many people settle for adjustable trailers is because they make hauling so much easier. Some trailers will have electronic brakes which work in racing bike with the vehicle's brakes. It is always a good idea to decide just exactly how much you want to spend on a boat trailer before you go out to get it, as a trailer can be a very expensive item.

Ketches are similar to a sloop, but there is a second shorter mast to the stern of the mainmast, but forward of the rudder post. The second mast is called the mizzen mast and the sail is called the mizzen sail. A ketch can also be cutter-rigged with two headsails.

Speedboats or powerboats are normally streamlined boats with very powerful engines in them. They range in size from the small Zapcats which were originally designed from surf rescue crafts in South Africa, and although they are only powered by a 50 horsepower engine they can go very fast reaching speeds of 50mph, as they are very light. They are relatively inexpensive and because they are inflatable they can be set up and packed away easily. Seadoo Sportsters are another attractively priced option at around 20000

What if you come upon a boatload of refugees while cruising?

Sun, 15 Jul 2007 15:53:52 +0200
So, you're sailing along happily on your 40' yacht (just you and your wife), some 200 miles from the nearest landfall and you see a boat ahead. As you get closer you notice that the vessel is lying very low in the water and the people aboard are waving their arms frantically. As you approach you see that the vessel is very close to sinking and there are about 20 men aboard - obviously a boatload of refugees. It appears that the boat is going down fast.
